Year Over Year Comparison of Average Pet Resort Website Traffic per Day Reveals Decline Began in Mid-March 2020 in All Regions

To help our Pet Resort and Pet Care Industry clients, we've started tracking YOY website sessions’ performance to begin to see the impact of the COVID-19 crisis. The breakdown of this information is by U.S. region, in order to protect the privacy of our Pet Care clients' data. This information will be updated weekly for the foreseeable future.

Western U.S. Pet Resort Website Traffic

West has -17% disparity (increased from -9% disparity last week) YoY; has nearly recovered despite having the largest disparity of all regions in April-May 2020 when compared to the previous year, but has not experienced a rise due to seasonality compared to last year

Northeastern U.S. Pet Resort Website Traffic

Northeast has a -33% disparity (increased from -20% disparity last week) YoY; had been experiencing a moderate, steady increase but had a decrease in the last week

Midwestern U.S. Pet Resort Website Traffic

Midwest has a -18% disparity (decreased from 20% disparity last week) YoY; the region has nearly recovered but hasn’t experienced a rise due to seasonality compared to last year

Southern U.S. Pet Resort Website Traffic

South has a -13% disparity (increased from -12% disparity last week) YoY; continues experiencing a moderate, steady increase despite having a steep disparity in YoY in April-May 2020

The data were collected from our pet resort clients' websites across the U.S. with the business’ zip codes partitioned into the respective national regions defined by the U.S. Census Bureau. Please see here for more information. The average of daily pet resort website sessions generated on these sites was calculated YTD for ’20 and compared to the same calculation for the year prior for each region. Data is collected and updated on a weekly basis to avoid any volatile daily changes. This data does not account for changes in Google algorithms, individual channel sources, or paid advertising.
